Money Scarcity = Money Growth

I am not a financial expert by any means, but I do know a thing or two about manifestation, being grateful and organization. I thought to share my current situation with you as to how Mike and I plan on saving money.

Ever since the day after Christmas, my husband and I have been hunkering down inside our house with hopes to save money. Recently I had to buy new tires, new suspensions, and get my car aligned. Plus I pay quarterly taxes for my business (hello, January 15th) and it was just Christmas. Those occurrences have made our comfortability levels decrease a bit and although we have an emergency fund, it is not fun to have to dip into it.

So here is what we are doing to get back to where we were AND keep growing.

1. Hang out at home.

When we treat ourselves, Mike and I love going on dates, walking around quaint towns and shopping in boutiques, and checking out wine cellars. However, we know that those privileges are the first to be cut when wanting to save a buck or two. Instead we have been hanging out at home, making fires, sleeping in, connecting with each other, reading, meditating, doing yoga, getting creative, catching up on documentaries, and making delicious food. It is such a nice change of pace to wear comfy clothes, not have anything on your agenda and just let the energy of the day take you where it wants. But the the secret sauce is using our time wisely to grow instead of wasting it by watching tv and not doing anything good for ourselves.

2. Write a meal prep list and don't go outside of it.

When Mike and I are feeling good with the income we have, we tend to throw whatever we want into our baskets without checking the price, we don't use coupons and like I said above, we like to treat ourselves to fun restaurants. However, when we do get down to business, the best thing to do is set a dollar amount we feel comfortable spending at the store and stick with that. I mean really... we buy what is on the shopping list and don't even throw in an extra bag of chips (because we wouldn't notice them like we normally would). We stay laser focused. We also create really delicious dishes that we normally wouldn't have. I have noticed that we eat more boring during the week when the option is there to treat ourselves at a restaurant.

By doing this, we save $75-100 per week!

3. Be grateful!

I can not tell you how grateful I have been for this time in my life. We are abundant with all the things we own, we have a warm roof over our head, food in our bellies and each other to hang out with. By being grateful of the situation and not hating the fact that we have not been going out makes us want to get after our goals even more. By taking away the more upbeat lifestyle, you are left with the real and raw you. You are forced to look at your situation differently and we are loving it!

4. Organize

I don't know about you, but Mike and I stay on top of our money so much, we come together almost weekly and talk about what is coming in, what is going out and where can we pinch off some income to put towards our savings. When we are on the same page, we communicate better and are more in control. Organization feels so good!

So there you have it! Those are the 4 ways we are turning our money scarcity into money growth!

.................................................

So keep calm and manifest that money!
